When I was by my MOTHER in July they was complaing of a site for a new WIND Farm.

One Guy said NO WIND, NO Power. Confused

What would he prefer a Coal power station or a Nuclere one?

They just help take the strain of the NATL GRID at peak times like after Eastenders. when every body put the kettle on.

Ok they are a block on the land but its clean and renewable. They could put them on the OLD RAF Stations they get lots of WIND and the people
are use to the noise of jets. So a Wind Farm is a lot better than that.

taf they might say thank god, they dont make em like us old timers anymore, i have enough problems convincing people that we earned our pensions, i think if the younger generation had their way, it would be lethal injections for all over 50s, [and i am only 19], ginger

getting back to wind farms, not long ago there was a protest about building a new coal fired power station on the isle of grain, according to the planners and boffins, the new station would be a very clean method of power producing with all the latest technology and gadgets, they say it would be as clean as a new nuclear power station, that being the case surelyit would be beneficial to build the new coal fired power station , and scrap those monstrous eyesores that are springing up all over the land and at sea, it might even be ok to use the coal stocks we have still underground, if it did work we would not be worried about buying power from russia ,france , etc, cant be bad, ginger.

Yaa BUT some person has to mine the coal be it above ground or onder the ground and then it has to be brought to the power station by rail or trucks.
All the time they are doing it they produce CO2 if its a Electric train the CO2 is in another area you just transfer the CO2 to another area.

You could make the Wind turbine's blend in to the land make them look like DUTCH wind mill's. plus they dont have to be as large as the are now 2 smaller ones can do the same as 1 large one
It can be done only they have to do it.

And wind and sea are always her its will never STOP

ranroz, they tell us these windfarms are the only way out, but they only create a very small percentage of power for the thousands of acres they take up , quite honestly i am not sold on this business of global warming and carbon footprints, its just a load of boffins trying to make a name for themselves , coupled with various government and county planning officers plus development moguls, all out to make a quick buck, i heard recently of people who had swallowed the advertising jingles for solar panels, an awful lot of people have remortgaged and borrowed big money to instal these solar panels. these same people are now having to borrow more money again to replace the solar panels which are wearing out, nobody told them when they bought them that the average life expectency of these panels are about twenty years. judging by these reports could it all be a con , are these manufacturers of solar panels just jumping on the gravy train , i think no matter what the boffins tell us ,we have always had climate change on this earth and we always will . happy days ginger.

TRUE It may not be the way out but its a start
Ok they are blot on the LAND but they could put them out to sea
A wind turbine costs about 300,00 pounds when its paid for it is free Electricity only it needs a service once a year.
Plus a Famer can sell any eccess back to the Natl Grid thus he has less work and still make's money from the turbine and less chance at Foot and Mouth or some other illness that the Government will not vacinate against.
As for SOLAR cells they do not produce enough Electricity they can be used for heating water a gain you will use a lot less fuil to heat the water in your house saving money.
