| just enquiring,if they get extra 40quid a day for transferring just how much do they earn in a week, when i hear of these sort of wages it makes my mind boggle, on saying that it dont give the mod the right to chop the blokes wages, it seems to me with this govt they hate our armed forces , they hate the ghurkas, they have more time for drug dealers than our service lads, its tommy this ,and its tommy that, and lock him up the brute, but its ,good old tommy atkins when the guns begin to shoot, never a truer word spoken , ginger jim, |

| I find that extraordinary? £40.00 a day extra? as Ginge says, what wages are they on then? I wonder if I am passed the age of being able to rejoin then? |

| when i joined as a regular my wage was 3 quid a week , national servicemen got twenty eight shillings a week, on demob as acting sgt three years later my money was 14 quid, that was a lot in those days, jim, |

| I was on just over £2.00 a week if i remember correctly/ but to be fair it went a long way in those days, I well remem,ber Pay Parade? marching up saluting and being hande the money/ straight to the NAAFI get the neccessary stuff andf the rest was all mine to spend? ah happy days indeed |
