No!!!!
21 years after leaving the Services, I have never adapted, and sometimes question my own sanity!!!! The reason I question it is because there is not a Civillian out here that can advice me!!!
I am one of the lucky ones though, bought and sold property, made a little along the way, but there are those that I have met that are deserted on the streets. They dont want money,,,,they want help and the sad part is!!!!!!!!! IT AINT THERE BABY,,,,,,,, Times dont change!!!! |

All the guys leaving the aremed forces after fighting in Afganistan or Irak are sitting time bomb's waithing to GO OFF.
We that served during the COLD war had it a lot better but some guys that seved in Northern Island also had and still do have it HARD.
Ajusting to a civilian life is hard, every thing is done for you in the force's well most things.
Just finding a place to live and a JOB is hard, thats one of the reasons I came to HOLLAND No work in Linconshire in 86.
I had luck I got a job by a job agency and could stay with friends till I found My ouwn place and got settled down.
But still it was hard The guys that are seving NOW if this credit crunch keeps UP it will be even worse.
Just look how it was in the USA after the Viet Nam WAR most sufferd from a savere BURN out or worse.
I just HOOP that the British Government does some thing about it and NOT wait till the Bomb inside thier heads GOES off.
Or its NOT to over see.

| I served in Aden, Cyprus, and others but 4 years in Ireland with the EOD including getting a medical discharge after being caught in a booby Trap, has left it's mark, I still have nightmares, I have had two breakdowns/ What help did I ever receive? Not a sausage, Oh sorry yes i di i was given the BEM??? |
